The Vincent P. Gurucharri, MD Foundation, Inc.

The Vincent P. Gurucharri, MD Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to Missouri residents undergoing cancer treatment.

Established in 2006 in memory of Dr. Vincent Gurucharri—a beloved Boone County surgeon known for his deep compassion—the Foundation continues his enduring belief that people help people. Dr. Gurucharri often stepped in personally to support patients in need, and his legacy lives on through this mission.

Support from the Foundation has helped prevent utility shutoffs, ensure access to essential medications, stop vehicle repossessions, and avoid home evictions—just a few examples of the impact made possible by this assistance.

To qualify, patients must be Missouri residents actively receiving cancer treatment at a designated hospital or clinic in one of the following counties: Audrain, Boone, Callaway, Cole, Cooper, Howard, Moniteau, or Randolph. Eligible patients may receive up to $850 per year.

Operated entirely by volunteers, the Foundation directs over 95% of donations to patients in need. Funding comes from generous individuals, memorial gifts, COMO Gives, and community fundraisers.

Since its founding, the Foundation has distributed over $1.2 million in direct assistance.

The goal is simple: to ease the financial burden of cancer so patients can focus on what matters most—healing.
